The Future is Now
Five Engine Room Projects Driving the 2100 Roadmap
On 10 December 2025, Our Future Agenda convened the final Pitstop for 2025. The Future is Now was a moment of clarity and momentum for building the 2100 Roadmap.
At the heart of Our Future Agenda is the Engine Room, hosted on Discord, which we invite you to join. It’s your space, a collaborative hub where young people and partners from across the world come together to connect, accelerate action, and generate innovative solutions for new models of global cooperation. Through the five Action Groups that power the Engine Room, People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnerships, our Next Generation Fellows, Action Group Changemakers, and young leaders, have spent months gathering evidence, stories, and solutions that will feed directly into the 2100 Roadmap.
The Road to 2100, is our long-term visioning effort to shape a bold, youth-driven roadmap for the world we want to build by the year 2100. Developed through research, dialogues, and collective imagination, the 2100 Roadmap charts the transformations needed across society to secure a thriving future for generations to come.
Grounded in a diagnosis of the world’s biggest challenges, the session was a space for the 5 Action Groups that power the Engine Room, People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnerships, to showcase their youth-driven, bold ideas, fresh insights, and creative pitches...
People
Youth Foresight Labs
The People Action Group is driving a bold, youth-led vision for development through the Youth Foresight Labs: Imagining Futures for 2100 project.
Focused on the People pillar of the SDGs, the project empowers young people, particularly from the Global South, to co-create futures grounded in rights, equality, health, and opportunity.
Through interactive foresight labs, participants explore themes including education, gender equality, health, and poverty elimination, producing scenarios, creative artifacts, and policy-relevant insights.
These outputs feed into a Vision 2100 Roadmap, ensuring youth voices move beyond consultation to shape real global influence and long-term change.
Planet
Adaptation Hub
The Planet Action Group drives urgent climate action and environmental protection, advocating for sustainable practices and conservation efforts, with an intergenerational perspective.
They work on initiatives that highlight the interconnectedness of planetary health, biodiversity, and the climate crisis. Without a dramatic upscale in adaptation finance and implementation, many vulnerable communities will remain exposed to rising climate risks. T
heir project, the Adaptation Hub, has a mission to build an accessible database of practical climate adaptation solutions for youth. A
dditionally, they will host monthly webinars to share these solutions and encourage collaboration among young communities globally.
Prosperity
Global Youth Digital Futures Lab
Across the world, young people are more connected than any generation before, yet the opportunities this creates aren’t equally shared. A teenager in Lagos can’t access basic digital skills, while their peers in Seoul are building AI models.
As digital spaces grow, so do risks: misinformation, unsafe online environments, and job markets demanding skills most youth never get to learn.
The Global Youth Digital Futures Lab is a youth-led project that builds future-ready skills through peer-to-peer exchanges, shapes policy with youth-authored proposals and shadow reports, and connects continents with cross-cultural collaboration and digital storytelling.
Peace
Global Youth Diplomacy Lab
Tasked with fostering global solidarity and reducing conflict, the Peace Action Group focuses on justice, inclusion, and governance reforms.
Youth are often on the frontlines of conflict but also at the forefront of peace movements. Leveraging the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda, the Action Group’s inclusion-centered approach makes peace efforts more effective and sustainable.
The Peace Action Group’s project aims to bridge the gap between young people’s aspirations for peace and the global strategies that will shape our collective future, equipping them with the practical tools and skills to become peace negotiators, leaders, and builders.
Partnerships
Money Matters
The Partnerships Action Group is focused on demystifying global finance and building youth-powered partnerships to drive fairer, more inclusive financial systems.
The project connects young people with global finance experts through interviews and collaborative exchanges, translating complex financial architecture into accessible knowledge for the next generation.
By bridging global insights with local realities, the initiative equips youth with evidence-based arguments, strengthens global solidarity, and amplifies voices from the Global South.
Their outputs are designed to feed directly into real decision-making spaces, including UN processes, helping build long-term youth influence on debt reform, climate finance, and equitable capital flows.
